Adnan Polat (1953) is a Turkish businessman born in Erzurum, a city in eastern Turkey.[1] After graduating from high school in 1976, he continued study in USA at Long Island University, on business administration. Then returned to Turkey and started to work on construction business. After 1981, he joined Ege Ceramics and wokerd as CEO for 10 years. Currently he is the President of Turkish Ceramics Federation. [2] In 1999, Polat had been a candidate for becoming the Mayor of İstanbul, but couldn't win. He is married since 1980 and got two children. Because of his investments in different countries, Polat is honorary consul of Tailand since 1997 and awarded with Italian order of merit in 2007. Polat was vice presedent of Galatasaray S.K. between 1992 - 1996 under presidency of Alp Yalman. Currently he is once more the vice president, this time with President Özhan Canaydın. [3] Polat, shown as new president of Galatasaray in near future by media, states that he is not making plans for such a situation and he is supporting Canaydın.
