  Sam (left) as Macbeth in Macbeth Samuel Worthington (born August 2, 1976) is an actor from Perth, Australia. He won a scholarship to the John Curtin School of Performing Arts in Fremantle, WA. He graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1998. Worthington was one of several actors who was under consideration to take over the role of James Bond from Pierce Brosnan for the 2006 film Casino Royale. Other actors included Daniel Craig, Henry Cavill, Goran Visnjic, Julian McMahon, director martin cambell stated that only he and Henry Cavill were in serious contention along with eventual winner Daniel Craig.
