Saoirse Ronan (b. 1994) is an Irish actress. She currently has five films scheduled for release in 2007 and 2008.[2]

Biography

Career

Saoirse Ronan got her start on multiple episodes of two Irish television series, The Clinic (as Rhiannon Geraghty) and Proof (as Orla Boland), from 2003-2005. Her first major motion picture appearance to be filmed was in the movie Death Defying Acts, although its release has been delayed until 2008. Ronan will appear in numerous roles in both 2007 and 2008, including starring roles in film adaptations of Atonement and The Lovely Bones.

She recently signed on at CAA.[3]

Personal life

Ronan is the daughter of actor Paul Ronan and his wife, Monica. As a child, she accompanied her father while he worked on films such as The Devil's Own and Veronica Guerin. She also was reputedly held as a baby by Brad Pitt.[2]

Ronan currently attends school in Ardattin, Ireland[4] and lives in Co Carlow.[2] Ronan has a border collie named Sassy; she has said that it is Sassy whom she misses most, when away filming.[5]
